This artwork was created for promotional images and for use as a book cover for the By Heart foundation. The client wanted to use the compression waves from when a plane breaks the sound barrier as inspiration for this.

I designed the general shape of the artwork but noticed it felt lacking in the circular patterns. I added texture to each individual section, with more detailed and complex patterns closer to the point of the compression wave. The further out the more disorganized and light the patterning gets.

Variations of this art are being used as covers for the Art of Recitation books.
