Reefilament Logo
A startup company contacted me to create the logo for their company. The company created 3d printing filament reels dyed with ink made of sea urchins. Sea urchins are invasive and cause harm to the ecosystem so this start up sought to find a use for the invasive sea urchins.
Step 1:
I wanted to explore the possibility of using the sea urchins shape in the design, making it more geometric and adding some elements of interest into the total design.
Step 2:
The startup company mentioned the reels of filiment were going to be pentagonally shaped so I wanted to include that in the design as well. There were mention of using seaweed in the design as well, so I started including that.
Step 3:
They liked versions 3 and versions 4 so I used those as a base for the two final choices for the design. They liked the wheel of B but didn’t like the swoop out to the side so in the final version that was removed.
